In the structural engineering field, a good GPA can only get you so far. Hands-on experience is the key to the possibilities awaiting you upon graduation. Internships provide RUA an opportunity to help develop individuals in their training to become future engineers. We target top students recruited through our participation in on-campus recruiting events and our extensive, long-standing contacts with many structural engineering professors at universities around the country.

Interns spend a summer working at RUA getting to know us, our clients, and our work. The goal of this program is to give top students an understanding of how a structural engineering practice operates before they graduate. For RUA, this gives us the chance to get to know a number of students who may be interested in joining us once they complete their academic studies.

To qualify for internships, students must meet the following requirements:

  • Registered as a full-time student
  • Demonstrate strong academic achievement in civil/structural engineering
  • Be active in areas outside of their academic work, including leadership roles
  • Have just completed their undergraduate studies and are about to embark on graduate studies in structural engineering, or are in the midst of completing their Master’s program in structural engineering

To apply, submit a cover letter describing your career aspirations, a copy of your resume, a list of references, an unofficial copy of your transcripts, and a list of the courses that you are presently taking. Please send all inquiries to info@ruaengineering.com.
